2010 Overall Record: 58-32 (64.4%)
Thursday, November 4
#52 Georgia Tech 17 @ #28 Virginia Tech 30. Virginia Tech's bounced back nicely from its devastating 0-2 start. The road to their 4th ACCCG in 6 years is wide open.
Saturday, November 6
#27 Illinois 21 @ #48 Michigan 27. Will Rich Rod's team collapse again? Could be, but I feel like Michigan's got to turn the corner sometime, right? ...right?
#22 Baylor 31 @ #12 Oklahoma State 42. How many people saw this game in August and thought, "this is the game that will go a long way to deciding the Big 12 South"? If you did, you are a very rich person. And probably not reading this blog.
#21 Hawaii 28 @ #3 Boise State 42. The Broncos don't lose on the Blue. Ever.
#6 Nebraska 35 @ #46 Iowa State 14. The 'Huskers get revenge for the 8-turnover disaster when the teams met in 2009. The nation's #2 rushing offense is drooling over the chance to face the nation's #100 rush defense. Uh oh.
#42 North Carolina 20 @ #26 Florida State 35. Florida State will be looking for redemption against the Tarheels after losing to NC State last Thursday. UNC is coming off a near-disaster, beating FCS foe William and Mary 21-17 on two 4th quarter scores.
#11 Alabama 13 @ #14 LSU 10. Saban has a victorious homecoming back in the Bayou. If Les Miles wins another crazy squeaker, I will eat my hat. Or his. Whatever.
#16 Arizona 34 @ #13 Stanford 35. The Cardinal have a shot at going 11-1 with a big win here against an Arizona team hungry to get to the first Rose Bowl in school history.
#20 Arkansas 27 @ #28 South Carolina 28. The 'Cocks play defense, the Hogs don't. The 'Cocks run the ball. The Hogs don't. This is a bad combination for the Razorbacks. Over/under for Lattimore's rushing yardage? I'll say 150.
Game of the Week! #2 TCU @ #5 Utah
GOTW Record: 6-3
- TCU Offense vs Utah Defense. The #12 TCU offense takes on the #19 Utah Defense. The Utes are strong against the run, but weak (#64) against the pass. TCU's Andy Dalton is solid, ranking #28 in Efficiency. TCU +1
- TCU Defense vs Utah Offense. TCU's Defense is, in a word, dominant. They rank #2 in total yards, #3 in allowed 1st down percentage, #1 in 3rd down percentage, #3 in pass defense, # 3 in pass efficiency defense, and #7 in rush defense. Utah's offense is balanced (#48 Rushing, #48 Passing), but the Utes will have to be very efficient in the red zone to score points on this amazing D. TCU +3
- Home field advantage. Utah has one of the best home-field advantages in the nation, winning their last 21 straight home games. Utah +2
The Verdict: TCU +2
The Prediction: What many are billing as the "Biggest Mountain West Game. Ever." won't live up to the hype, as TCU puts on a clinic. TCU 34, Utah 17.
