Last Week's Record: 7-3
Overall Record: 7-3
Friday, September 9
Missouri 17 @ Arizona State 24
The Tigers' Offense looked mediocre at best against Miami OH last week, and Arizona State is hungry to show that they're a Pac-12 contender. The Sundevils win a tight one.
Saturday, September 10
Mississippi State 40 @ Auburn 31
This one could morph into a high-scoring affair, but Mississippi State is on the way up, and if Auburn thought that Utah State's Pistol Option offense was tough last week, they have nothing on the Bulldogs and Dan "Urban Meyer's Brain" Mullen.
Alabama 17 @ Penn State 9
Both teams boast tough defenses and shaky offenses, but Alabama's "D" is tougher. That's all it will take to win one over JoePa and the Nittany Lions.
Virginia Tech 35 @ East Carolina 24
The Pirates scored bunches against South Carolina early and often, but Va.Tech's D is ready, and certainly able.
TCU 20 @ Air Force 21
UPSET ALERT! OK, well the Frogs are only favored by one and a half... but Air Force is ready to capitalize on TCU's mistakes against the Baylor Bears last week. They've been close in recent years, and this is the Acadamy's last chance to stick it to the Horned Frogs before they hop off to the Big East.
Hawaii 34 @ Washington 28
The Huskies just barely got by Eastern Washington last week, and the last thing you'd want after a week like that is to face back-to-back opponents Hawaii and Nebraska.... good luck with that.
South Carolina 21 @ Georgia 17
A note to Steve Spurrier: the team that can run the football will win. Psst. You have an outstanding tailback. USE HIM.
BYU 17 @ Texas 13
UPSET ALERT! BYU didn't look great beating Ole Miss last week, but neither did Texas in beating Rice. The Cougar's D is a heck of a lot better than the Owl's, so those Longhorns better be ready....
Utah 20 @ USC 30
Utah wasn't exactly on fire last week against Montana State. Luckily for them, USC looked average at best against Minnesota. This time, the Trojans get a lead and hold it all game.
GAME OF THE WEEK:
Notre Dame at Michigan
ND O vs Michigan D: The Irish plan to start QB Rees this week; he's 4-0 as a starter. That, and limiting costly turnovers, should help them against a Michigan defense about to go up against its first tough test this year. ND +1
Michigan O vs ND D: The Wolverines have Denard Robinson. The Irish have a much improved defense. .. When in doubt, go with the "known": Michigan's offense will roll.
Michigan +2
The Venue: The first night game at Michigan Stadium will have the place swinging. The improvements will make the noise deafening. Michigan +1
The Verdict: Michigan +2
The Prediction: Notre Dame hangs tough all game, and has a chance to score with a minute left to win it. Michigan intercepts the pass. Michigan 34, Notre Dame 30.
