Week 5 Predictions

Week 4 Record: 7-3
2010 Record: 29-11 (72.5%)

Busy week, so I have a guest picker: Tori Espensen-Sturges!
I added my thoughts below, if I disagreed.

Thursday, September 30

Texas A&M 20 at Oklahoma State 27- The game depends on which Texas A&M team shows up: the lackluster one that got pummelled by Florida International throughout most of the game last week, or the determined one that mounted a fierce comeback in the fourth.

Saturday, October 2
Michigan 35 at Indiana 24With Denard Robinson in the game and supposedly healthy, the Hoosiers will struggle in their first true test of the season.
Texas 35, Oklahoma 31- After last week's abysmal showing (5 turnovers?  Really?), Texas steps it up to prove that it was only a fluke...barely. I respectfully disagree - OU 21, UT 13
Wisconsin 38 at Michigan State 24- MSU's one challenge this season came from Notre Dame, a game they barely won in OT.  Wisconsin offense should have no problem capitalizing on the Spartan's untested defense.
Miami 31 at Clemson 17- The Hurricanes have shown that they can play a good game, even when they lose.  They'll have to focus to beat a relatively strong Clemson team at Death Valley, but expect them to show up prepared.
Penn State 21 at Iowa 28Expect a repeat of the Iowa-Arizona game, only this time, the Hawkeyes have home field advantage.
Florida 21 at Alabama 41- Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson will tear up the Gator defense, and Florida's incosistent offense is no match for Bama's formidable D.
Washington 27 at Southern Cal 17- If Jake Locker can get it together, the Huskies should be able to throw their way past a Trojan team that's been lucky in close games all season. I respectfully disagree - USC 21, Washington 16
Virginia Tech 27 at NC State 24- Once again, VT's game could go either way.  The deciding factor this week: turnovers. I respectfully disagree - NCSU 24, VaTech 17

Game of the Week! Stanford at Oregon.
Game of the Week Prediction Record:  3-1 (75%)

  •  Stanford O  vs Oregon D.  The Ducks' D was one of the nation's highest-ranked with entering last week, but then gave up over 500 yards to Arizona State. The Cardinal offense is going to be a tough test.  Stanford  -3
  • Stanford D VS Oregon O. Oregon has perhaps the most explosive offense in college football, but Stanford's defense is stout, as well.  Oregon +2
  • Homefield Advantage: Oregon has won its last 12 straight home games. Oregon +2
 The Verdict: Oregon +1
The Prediction: Oregon 34, Stanford 30.

  1. I feel like we should put something on who has the better record this week. Thoughts?
